Vishwakarma is not just the architect of heavenly abodes but also the entire universe itself. According to Hindu mythology, he crafted the cosmos from nothingness.
Vishwakarma is credited with creating the powerful weapons of the gods, including the Vajra (Indra's thunderbolt) and the Sudarshana Chakra (Krishna's discus).
Beyond architecture, Vishvakarma is also considered the progenitor of celestial mechanics. He is believed to have designed and built the celestial chariots used by the gods.
Vishwakarma is not just a divine creator but also the patron deity of human craftsmen, artisans, and engineers. His worship is particularly popular among those involved in construction, metalworking, and other skilled trades.
A lesser-known fact is that Vishwakarma is the father-in-law of the Sun God, Surya. His daughter, Samjna, married Surya, and their union led to the creation of the lunar deity, Chandra.
