Where are Tigers Found in Assam?

Assam is known for her lush forest cover. And tigers are quite the highlight here. Assam records some of the healthier populations of tiger in the wild. Here are the main areas in the state where the tiger roams freely in the wild.

The 2023 tiger census revealed over 3000 tigers in the wild all over India. Of that, the census in 2023 recorded 194 tigers captured by camera traps laid out in the wild.

Kaziranga has become a pristine place to spot tigers in the wild. It not only has the highest number of tigers in Assam but also has the highest density of tigers in the world. The 2023 tiger census recorded 84.09 MME score percentage for Kaziranga.

The other great place to spot tigers in Assam is Manas. Manas has faired quite well in the tiger census, and also gives ample opportunities for tiger spotting.

Orang is the other good place where you can spot tiger. The 2023 tiger census put Orang's tiger population on the rise along with Kaziranga and Manas, and hence this makes it a very good option to spot the big cat.

Nameri is also one place where you can spot a tiger, althought that may be a rather rare occasion. 2023 tiger census put Nameri's tiger populace on a decline. But still place still ranks among the tiger habitats of Assam.
